Equifax

Equifax is one of the three major credit reporting agencies in the United States.  Equifax provides information on almost 400 million consumers and businesses around the world to companies in financial services, retail, mortgage, telecommunications, utilities, automotive, information technology, and healthcare industries, and the government.

If you have applied for, or you've been granted credit in the past, it is likely that Equifax has you in their files. Credit grantors may rely on data from the Equifax creditbureau  exclusively, or they may use Equifax credit reports in combination with reports from Experian and TransUnion, the other two major creditbureau sources. Many companies, when deciding whether or not to grant credit to you, use the Beacon score - which is a score based on your Equifax credit report.
